Fall Recipe Round Up

Fall Round Up

Okay, I’m cheating a little with this post. I’ve just gotten back from vacation so I haven’t had time to try out any new recipes in a few weeks, but I did bake a bunch of muffins and breads to take on our trip and that got me looking though my recipe archives. Plus, I’ve seen a big increase in search engine traffic looking for soups and other Fall comfort foods, so I thought I’d make a list of my favorites.

I’ll be back next week with something new, until then try out some of these great recipes:

Chicken Pot Pie Soup

Chicken Pot Pie Soup

One of my go-to soups in the fall and winter. Great for using up extra vegetables you have in the fridge or freezer. I have two different versions, a very simple, low-fat version that can be made in 5 minutes with stuff from your pantry or a slightly more involved (and higher fat) version with fresh vegetables. Both versions are great!

Pumpkin Apple Streusal Muffins

Just made up a batch of these for the trip. They’re low-fat, too!

Swirled Caramel and Pumpkin Cheesecake Supreme

Definitely not low-fat, but worth it!

Double Chocolate Pumpkin Cupcakes

I love the flavor that pumpkin adds to the chocolate. I will be doing more experimenting with pumpkin and chocolate this year.

Chicken Tortilla Soup

This soup is very healthy and filling. I alternate regularly between this and the Chicken Pot Pie soup. I could probably live on just these two soups all Fall and Winter long and be completely happy.

Molasses Crinkles

Probably my favorite cookies. I’ve been making them since I was a kid.

Gingerbread Mini-muffins

I also made a batch of these for my trip. They’re a great snack for the road, but be careful or you’ll wind up eating them all! They’re quite addictive.

Lentil Soup with Bacon

Lentil Soup

Another good, hearty soup. I wasn’t a big fan of lentils before this, but bacon makes everything better.

Banana Coffee Cake with Cinnamon-Chocolate Chip Streusel

I love the cinnamon streusal and chocolate chips together. I haven’t made this recipe in a while but I’m planning to make it again soon.

Pumpkin-Cinnamon Streusal Buns

Yeah, I just posted these a few weeks ago, but they were a big hit, so I had to include them in this list. You won’t regret making these, plus they’re light, so you don’t have to feel guilty about eating them!

  1. I found your blog a while ago when I was searching for chicken pot pie soup recipes (the one you have here is AMAZING, by the way). I’ve never commented before, so I thought it was high time that I did so. I just made the chicken tortilla soup for the first time tonight, and it was fantastic! I have yet to find something here that I dislike; apparently we have similar tastes. 😉 Anyway, just wanted to thank you for the wide variety of recipes you highlight here. This is one of the first places I look when I’m in the mood to try something new. The chicken tortilla soup will definitely be joining my regular soup rotation!
